This book started as an illustration project, but young Simon the courier had other ideas. He galloped off with the story, and the next thing I knew, I was digging around in Medieval Nottinghamshire.

Totally gorgeous!
Interesting color contrast!
Prussian blue, which Sargent used in his palette, and burnt sienna. They are complementary on the color wheel and so contrast nicely.
